Role: Group Logistics Coordinator
Location: Preston, PR1
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 dependant on experience
The Role:
We're looking for an organised, commercially minded Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team.
If you enjoy solving problems, building supplier relationships and keeping operations running smoothly, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating waste collections across the UK.
Working closely with our Group Service Manager and dedicated Transport Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring collections are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within budget whilst driving continuous improvements in service and cost efficiency.
The Business:
Recycling Lives Services is not a typical recycling company. Since 2008, the business has been structurally built around social value, employing people from disadvantaged backgrounds, partnering with the justice system to reduce reoffending, and delivering environmental excellence at scale. The social mission is not a layer added on top of commercial activity. It is the reason the business operates in the way it does.
As a certified B Corp (scoring 103.5 against a business median of 50.9), Recycling Lives Services generated £42.9m in social value in 2024, achieved a 61% reduction in CO2 emissions, and diverted 97% of waste from landfill. 15% of our team have been welcomed through our rehabilitation programmes, and only 6% of people we support reoffend — compared to a national average of over 25%.
We operate UK-wide across construction, manufacturing, retail, utilities and public sector markets, offering total waste management, WEEE recycling, and specialist hazardous waste services.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Coordinate third-party haulage and bulk waste collections across the UK.
- Schedule collections to meet customer service commitments and internal SLAs.
- Build strong relationships with transport suppliers and monitor their performance.
- Resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption.
- Monitor transport costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Ensure all transport and compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Use Salesforce and internal systems to manage logistics activities and reporting.
- Work closely with Customer Services, Supply Chain, Finance and Operational teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

- Has previous experience in logistics, transport coordination or supply chain.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Can confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Builds strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Has strong commercial awareness and enjoys finding smarter, more efficient ways of working.
