We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Senior Project Manager to join our expanding portfolio of responsible sourcing projects. In this role, you will support leading food and consumer goods companies in defining their environmental and social sourcing commitments and translating these goals into practical, on-the-ground action. This position is ideal for someone with strong project management capabilities, along with experience and technical expertise in areas such as nature, people, and/or climate.

Job Description
What will you do?
Our Responsible Sourcing team is a global group of technical experts working on environmental and human rights issues across agricultural and forestry supply chains. We partner with leading companies such as Nestlé, PepsiCo, Mars, The Coca-Cola Company and Cargill across key commodities including palm oil, sugar, soy, coconut, beef and cocoa.
In this role, you will support a portfolio of projects delivering positive environmental and social outcomes, working closely with clients and global teams of experts.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing client projects, including planning, resourcing, budgets, subcontractors and invoicing

Leading or contributing to client deliverable by providing technical expertise on strategy and action plans, supplier engagement programmes, landscape and collaboration initiatives, monitoring & reporting

Facilitating client meetings and maintaining client relationships are maintained Managing and mentoring junior team members

Internal knowledge-sharing, potentially become a subject matter expert in a particular area (depending on experience

Producing clear, high-quality reports and documentation

Qualifications
About you
You are self-motivated, have passion for our mission and are eager to develop your knowledge and skills further. You will have:
Essential:

A masters’ level qualification (or above) in a relevant field, such as environmental issues (e.g., land use, water, biodiversity, climate adaptation and mitigation) and social issues (e.g., human rights, smallholder livelihoods)

Professional experience in a consultancy or private sector role working in or with: food and consumer good companies and agricultural commodity supply chains.

Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting to clients

Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines

Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.
Desirable:

Knowledge of Spanish, French, Portuguese, Bahasa, or Mandarin

Relevant topic knowledge and/or experience within a Europe agricultural context.

Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per annum (for the UK) or €45,000 - €49,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. per annum depending on skills and experience.

Hybrid working: Proforest operates on a hybrid basis. We encourage staff to attend the office regularly to maximise interactions with colleagues and encourage collaboration, but we also appreciate individual circumstances and preferences. The role requires office attendance twice a week. We’d expect more office attendance at the start of employment to enable a smooth induction.
