We are officially recruiting dedicated and responsible School Escorts across all of Edinburgh for the upcoming 2026–2027 school term!
In this role, you will accompany children on their daily journeys to and from school. To make your day as seamless as possible, our aim is to pair you with a local driver and a school run that is nearby to your home to reduce your travelling time.
We are also looking to build our team of Relief Passenger Assistants to provide crucial cover for annual leave and sickness.
If you live in Edinburgh, have a patient, caring demeanour, and want to make a real difference in your community, we would love to hear from you!
Hours & Schedule
This role operates on a part-time, split-shift basis perfectly aligned with the academic calendar:
- Term-Time Contract: Work covers the standard 39 weeks of the school year (enjoy your school holidays off!).
- Monday to Thursday: Morning drop-off (getting the children to school for 9:00 AM) and afternoon pick-up (collecting them at 3:15 PM).
- Friday: Half-day schedule in line with Edinburgh school finishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely escort children to and from school, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.
- Maintain strict punctuality and reliability to ensure school schedules are met.
- Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and your designated driver.
What We Are Looking For
- Location: Based anywhere in Edinburgh (we will try to match you to local routes!).
- Experience: Prior experience working with children is highly preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional time management and strong communication skills.
- Attributes: A patient, reliable, and deeply caring nature.
Background Checks & PVG SchemeWhat is a PVG?The Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a mandatory background check managed by Disclosure Scotland. It ensures that people working with children and protected adults do not have a history of harmful behaviour.
- If you don't have a PVG: Having an existing PVG is beneficial, but not required to apply. We will handle the application process for you and we will fully cover the cost of your new PVG check.
- If you already have a PVG: We will apply to add our business to your existing PVG scheme membership, and we will fully cover this cost as well.
