Are you looking for a stable, full-time role in food production with full training provided? We're recruiting for a Quality General Operative to join a fast-paced food manufacturing business in Newry, where you'll play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality and food safety standards.
What You'll Be Doing
Working alongside the Production and Technical teams, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out product quality and food safety checks, including weight, labelling and metal detection checks.
- Completing quality monitoring paperwork and uploading data to the company system.
- Scanning materials using internal systems.
- Supporting product changeovers in line with company procedures.
- Printing and issuing product labels.
- Completing pre-start checks before production begins.
- Recording, labelling and managing daily waste and recyclable materials.
- Assisting with other duties as required by the management team.
Working Hours
Typical working hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:00/7:00am – 5:00/6:00pm, with start times depending on the production area you're working in.
During peak periods, there may be occasional Friday shifts. Any additional Friday work will be communicated via the rota at least one week in advance.
Essential Criteria
- Good written and spoken English.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Flexible, reliable and willing to learn.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience within food production, manufacturing or quality assurance is advantageous, although full training will be provided.
