Golf Assistant - Full Time (Weekend & Weekday Working)
We are seeking to employ enthusiastic, flexible and reliable Golf Assistant to work within our Golf Services Team and No19 Golf Clubhouse to work both during the week and weekends.
Purpose of the Position
- To assist with the smooth running of the Golf Services department, Golf Shop, Golf Academy, Golf Reception, Colt and Filly courses at both weekends and weekdays.
KEY TASKS OF THE ROLE
- Prepare and work in the Golf Services area for the day in accordance with standards and procedures.
- When required prepare and work in the Golf Shop or Golf Academy for the day in accordance with standards and procedures
- Provide a warm welcome to guests when they arrive.
- Have a good knowledge of Close House Golf Club products, services, lessons, green fees, rental items, golf day procedures.
- Assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner and provide attentive but discreet service during their visit to Close House.
- Deal with any complaints/problems politely and positively and make every effort to resolve them.
- To help oversee the operation of events.
- Meet and greet all event organisers to ensure smooth running of events.
- Take every opportunity to up sell in all areas of the business especially products within the Golf Shop, Golf Academy and Golf Rental items such as buggies, electric trolleys & green fees.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with the throughout the golf department to ensure the smooth running of both golf courses on a day to day basis.
- Provide a golf shoe and club cleaning service for all members and guests.
- Clean the buggies, golf services area, bag store, locker rooms, electric and hand pull trolleys in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Carry out golf course ranger and starter duties.
- Have knowledge of and operate Health & Safety procedures. e.g. COSHH, Basic Food Hygiene.
- Have knowledge of and operate hotel cash handling/accounting, security and emergency procedures.
- Maintain operational standards to the highest possible level in respect of service, hygiene, health & safety and ensure that there is minimal wastage
- Works as necessary to provide service at the golf course, which may include working irregular hours or shifts.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the golf industry however full training will be provided if a successful candidate requires training.
Hours of work will be on a rota/shift basis. This will include evenings & weekends. Positions available are Full time.
Wage – meets national minimum wage. Uniform provided. Due to the location of the hotel and golf club, the ideal candidate will have their own transport as there is very limited public transport.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour

Work Location: In person
