Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries to deliver goods across various locations. Duties
- Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 2 lorry to complete scheduled deliveries and collections.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and comply with safety standards.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery deadlines whilst adhering to legal driving hours.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods where necessary, ensuring proper handling at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicle operation.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading/unloading, including lifting where necessary.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work on various schedules as required by operational needs.
