At Beacon Primary Academy, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their starting point, learning difference or additional need. We are proud of our highly inclusive culture, where children are supported to achieve both academically and personally within a nurturing and ambitious environment.
We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our inclusive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives and who want a role that goes beyond traditional classroom support.
What makes Beacon different?
Unlike many schools where LSAs are assigned solely to support within a single classroom, Beacon Primary Academy operates an innovative and inclusive support model. Our Learning Support Assistants develop expertise in specific areas of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), becoming specialists who contribute to our whole-school intervention and inclusion offer both inside and outside the classroom.
Depending on experience and interests, LSAs may have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in areas such as:
-
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
-
Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
-
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
-
Cognition and Learning
-
ADHD and Executive Functioning
-
Sensory and Physical Needs
-
Emotional literacy and wellbeing interventions
As part of our team, you will play an active role in planning and delivering high-quality interventions, supporting staff/teachers across the school and helping to ensure that every child receives the correct in class support as well as targeted support they need to succeed.
The Role
You will:
-
Support pupils individually, in small groups and within whole-class settings.
-
Deliver evidence-informed interventions that accelerate progress and improve outcomes.
-
Develop expertise within a SEND specialism and contribute to our inclusive practice across the school.
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders, families and external agencies.
-
Build positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and resilience.
-
Help create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their potential.
-
Support the implementation of personalised strategies and provision plans.
We are looking for someone who:-
Is passionate about inclusion and supporting children with diverse needs.
-
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Is committed to continuous professional development and learning.
-
Can build strong, trusting relationships with children and families.
-
Works effectively as part of a team while showing initiative and independence.
-
Shares our belief that every child can succeed with the right support.
Why choose Beacon Primary Academy?
This is more than a traditional Learning Support Assistant role. It is an opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking school that recognises the vital contribution support staff make to inclusive education. Our LSAs are not simply classroom-based assistants; they are skilled practitioners, intervention specialists and advocates for children who need us most.
If you are looking for a rewarding role within a school that is ambitious for every child and committed to developing every member of staff, we would love to hear from you.
