Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) with a focus on deliveries, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, managing time effectively to meet schedules
- Secure loads properly on trucks, ensuring stability during transit and compliance with weight limits
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Load and unload goods at various delivery points, verifying accuracy against delivery notes
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with trucks and delivery routes
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for commercial vehicles
- Delivery driver experience with excellent navigation skills and route planning abilities
- Ability to secure loads properly on flatbeds and handle physical aspects of loading/unloading
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to meet operational demands
