Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Warehouse Operative to join a Food Wholesaler logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of stock within the warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle perishable foods and stock with care, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and stocking of products to meet customer and company standards
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely to load, unload, and move goods throughout the facility
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, process shipments, and update stock records efficiently
- Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality control
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Conduct regular stock checks, organize storage areas, and ensure products are stored correctly for easy retrieval
- Assist with mechanical maintenance tasks as needed, applying basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment or similar logistics setting is preferred
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is highly desirable; certification is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout all warehouse processes
Hours
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
