Medem UK, a leading manufacturer of gas control and detection systems based in south Manchester. We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer (Gas detection) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair of equipment at client locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and efficient service. The position involves travelling to various sites, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions to optimise operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Traveling to various sites nationwide to commission and service gas control and detection systems.
- Conducting thorough analyses of system performance and troubleshooting any issues that arise, which may involve working at heights.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains in optimal condition.
- Provide training and technical support to clients on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Document service activities accurately, including reports on repairs, replacements, and recommendations for improvements.
- Liaise with the central office to communicate progress, issues, and required parts or tools for upcoming tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all service activities.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation and user manuals as needed.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated individual with a flexible mindset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
- Valid driving licence with a clean driving record; willingness to travel extensively between sites and occasional overnight stays.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Application Process:
· Initial screening online; followed by face-to-face interviews and assessments at our Manchester offices.
· Training (2-4 weeks) and on-the-job experience with an existing engineer (2-6 months).
· Required certifications: CSCS for control system engineers, DBS approval, and IPAF certification for which training will be provided.
