Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in developing their culinary skills within a professional setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support catering services for events and functions, ensuring timely delivery of meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment
- Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
- Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages
- Support the team during busy periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with basic cooking tasks
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are adhered to during daily operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Basic understanding of meal preparation and food handling techniques
- Experience in food preparation, kitchen work, or culinary roles is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills within the culinary field
Pay: £6.71-£12.71 per hour
