Overview
Atlantis Swimming School is looking for a Swimming Instructor to inspire confidence, skill, and a love for water in learners of all ages and abilities! In this energetic role, you will deliver engaging swimming lessons that promote safety, technique, and enjoyment. Your passion for teaching and sports coaching experience will help create a positive environment where students thrive and achieve their aquatic goals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while honing your instructional skills.
Lessons take place on Thursdays and Fridays at Brookfields School, Tilehurst between 4-5.30pm increasing to 6pm as classes expand. Lessons are term time only starting on the 10th and 11th September. Candidates can be available for both days or 1 day.
Responsibilities
- Lead swimming lessons for groups of up to 6 children aged 3.5yr+, tailoring instruction to diverse skill levels and learning styles
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, safety procedures, and water confidence strategies
- Monitor participants closely to ensure safety at all times during lessons and activities
- Develop lesson plans following the Swimming England Stage 1-4 criteria that incorporate fun, skill-building exercises, and progress tracking
- Provide constructive feedback to students to encourage improvement and motivate continued participation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe pool environment in accordance with health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Level 2 swimming teacher qualification required
- RLSS NRASTC or STA Safety Award for Teachers qualification required or willing to gain
Pay: £25.00 per hour
