Happy Faces is a well established provider of after school care in Wimbledon.
We are open between 3.15-6.00 pm, term time only.
This position is to begin September 2026.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team.
You will be responsible for preparing and helping to serve light meals/snacks for up to 60 children per evening from an established, rotating menu. Things can include wraps, beans on toast, noodles.
You will maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety within our kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering quality meals and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Prior kitchen experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for various dishes.
- Cook and prepare meals according to specified menu
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Support the team during busy service periods by helping to serve food
- Restock supplies and organise ingredients to ensure efficient kitchen workflow
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation and cooking
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
- Organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to different tasks within the kitchen environment.
Pay: £12.71-£17.00 per hour
