Logistics Co-ordinator – Traffic Desk

ELB Partners Ltd is looking for an organised, proactive and dependable Logistics Co-ordinator to join our busy Traffic Office.
This is a hands-on role working directly on the traffic desk, helping to coordinate our daily transport operation and ensuring our drivers, vehicles and customer deliveries run smoothly and efficiently.
We are an established independent transport and logistics business operating from South London, providing palletised distribution, general haulage and dedicated transport services across London and the UK.
The Role
Working as part of our operations team, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements and deliveries
- Allocating work to drivers and vehicles
- Monitoring drivers throughout the day and dealing with operational issues
- Communicating with customers regarding collections, deliveries and ETAs
- Managing changes to the daily plan and responding quickly when problems arise
- Liaising with drivers, customers, depots and other transport partners
- Processing transport paperwork and maintaining accurate system records
- Assisting with Pallet Network traffic and depot operations
- Ensuring collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and on time
- Supporting compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time and company procedures
- Working closely with the Transport Manager and wider operations team
- Providing a high level of customer service at all times
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- A confident communicator both on the telephone and by email
- Able to prioritise and manage several jobs at the same time
- Calm under pressure and able to think quickly when plans change
- Computer literate and comfortable learning transport management systems
- Reliable, professional and willing to take responsibility
- A strong team player with a positive, practical attitude
Previous experience within transport, logistics, haulage or a traffic office would be an advantage, although we are equally interested in applicants with the right attitude, organisational ability and willingness to learn.
Knowledge of pallet networks, London deliveries, Drivers' Hours regulations or Transport Management Systems would be particularly beneficial.
