Aspects Care Ltd is recruiting an experienced Female Support Worker to join our dedicated team supporting an individual with complex needs within the community.
This post is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the personal care needs of the individual being supported. Experience and understanding of Afro-Caribbean culture and traditions would be advantageous.
We support individuals with complex learning disabilities, autism, behaviours of concern and mental health needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible within their own homes and local community.
The Role
We are looking for a caring, reliable and committed Support Worker who is able to build positive relationships and promote independence whilst providing person-centred support.
The successful applicant will predominantly work 9:00am – 5:00pm, however flexibility is essential as you will be required to cover annual leave and sickness, which may include shifts between 7:30am and 10:00pm, including weekends where required.
Duties include:
- Supporting with daily living skills and promoting independence.
- Assisting with personal care whilst maintaining dignity and respect.
- Administering medication in accordance with company policies.
- Supporting access to community activities, appointments and social opportunities.
- Completing household tasks including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with CQC standards and company policies.
- Working as part of a professional team to deliver high quality, person-centred care.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Support Worker.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Confidence supporting people with autism, learning disabilities and/or mental health needs.
- A caring, patient and professional approach.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, and provide cover for annual leave and sickness when required.
Experience with Autism and Mental Health is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided and we will support you through your Health and Social Care qualifications.
