About the Role
Had Fab is looking for a driven and detail-focused Estimator to join our Commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical and commercial mindset to play a key role in converting customer enquiries into winning business proposals.
As an Estimator, you'll work closely with the Estimating and Commercial Manager and wider team to prepare accurate, competitive, and high-quality tenders — helping to shape the future growth of the business while building lasting relationships with our customers, suppliers, and contractors.
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and submitting tender bids using customer-supplied drawings, specifications, and information
- Building and maintaining positive customer relationships to understand their needs and propose value-add solutions
- Coordinating and maintaining reporting, tracking, and supporting documentation throughout the bid process
- Peer reviewing estimates to ensure alignment with company standards and client requirements
- Providing regular progress updates to the Estimating and Commercial Manager to keep bids on track
- Liaising with suppliers and contractors to secure the best price, quality, and delivery terms
- Maximising value and controlling costs across proposals
- Preparing and issuing quotation letters, including clarifications where required
- Managing customer communications around scope, cost, and schedule changes
- Checking specifications and drawings against tender enquiry documents
- Championing Had Fab's reputation for being responsive, professional, and easy to do business with
- Collaborating with the team to continuously improve estimating processes and capabilities
- Keeping CRM data accurate and up to date with forecast and planning information
Reporting & Interfaces
- Reports directly to the Estimating and Commercial Manager
- Works closely with the Senior Estimator and PMO Team
- Liaises with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual and operational alignment
Health, Safety & Environment
- Considers safety and environmental factors as part of the estimating process
- Complies with all applicable HSE system requirements
- Maintains a high standard of HSE attitude and behaviour
- Reports any unsafe actions or conditions observed
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level skills in Word and spreadsheet software
- Solid technical knowledge of fabrication and the ability to interpret customer requirements
- Experience in cost modelling
- Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the sales process
- A genuine drive to win business and create value for both Had Fab and its customers
