Overview
The Bathroom Surveyor is responsible for carrying out on-site surveys of customer properties to assess suitability for new bathroom installations. This role involves accurately measuring spaces, identifying technical requirements, advising on design feasibility, and ensuring all necessary information is gathered to allow smooth project planning, costing, and installation. The Bathroom Surveyor acts as a key link between the customer, sales/design team, and installation teams.
Responsibilities
- Visit customer properties to carry out detailed bathroom surveys.
- Take accurate measurements of rooms, walls, floors, ceilings, and existing services.
- Assess plumbing, drainage, electrics, ventilation, and structural considerations.
- Identify potential issues or additional works required (e.g., floor strengthening, boxing, access limitations).
- Confirm design feasibility and advise on practical solutions where needed.
- Produce clear survey reports, drawings, photos, and technical notes.
- Liaise with project managers, and installers to ensure smooth handover.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and company standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining the process and setting expectations.
- Support installation teams with technical information before and during projects.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of bathroom installation methods, plumbing, and building basics.
- Excellent measuring and surveying accuracy with high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, layouts, and technical drawings.
- Confident identifying on-site risks and problem-solving practical solutions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple surveys.
- Competent with tablets, survey software, and basic office systems.
- Full UK driving licence
