Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Operative to join our team. This role involves assisting with materials handling, warehouse operations, and ensuring the smooth movement of goods across our site. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and be comfortable with heavy lifting and operating equipment such as forklifts. Responsibilities
- Moving, organising, and storing materials within the yard
- Supporting despatch and order preparation
- Carrying out general yard maintenance and housekeeping
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Supporting despatch and order preparation
- Assisting warehouse or logistics teams where required
- Conducting basic checks on incoming and outgoing stock
- Operating machinery (if qualified)
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness to handle long periods of standing, walking, and manual tasks in an outdoor setting
- Basic understanding of stock handling and logistics processes
- FLT Counterbalance licence desirable but not essential

This is a full time role working Monday - Friday - 46.25 hours per week.
Pay £12.71 per hour plus bonus
