Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Shop/Kitchen Assistant to support our catering and food preparation operations. This role involves assisting with meal and food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the smooth running of kitchen activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.serving the public, keeping up and maintaining hygiene
Practices, level 2 hygiene certificat will be required
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support the catering team in setting up and clearing serving areas
- Help maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and shop areas
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to at all times
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage
- Serve customers in a friendly, professional manner when required
- Support the team during busy periods by providing efficient service and assistance
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all staff
Experience
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with meal preparation, food safety procedures, and kitchen equipment is beneficial
- Experience in food service or serving customers will be considered an asset
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and food presentation is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
