We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Mintlaw Vet Surgery on part-time basis.
Mintlaw Vets is a bustling single-site practice situated in Aberdeenshire. Our purpose-built premises house a vibrant and forward-thinking team that values collaboration. We hold RCVS General Practice Accreditation, alongside VetGDP, RVN Training Practice status, and ISFM Cat-Friendly Clinic Accreditation. We also implement Fear Free techniques to enhance the well-being of both clients and patients.
Within our well-equipped facility, you'll find a light and spacious waiting room, 4 consulting rooms (including a dedicated nurse consult room), and 2 operating theatres, one of which doubles as a dirty ops/x-ray room. We also have staff dog accommodation on site.
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Hours
- Working 3 days, Monday to Friday
- 1 in 6 Saturdays with TOIL
General responsibilities:
- Providing nursing care to hospitalised patients, including monitoring and treatments
- Preparing patients for theatre and monitoring anaesthesia
- Administering medications, injections, and fluid therapy
- Running nurse clinics (e.g. weight management, wound care, vaccinations)
- Supporting and advising clients on the care of their pets
- Assisting with laboratory work, diagnostic tests, and imaging
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
