Overview
We are seeking a multi-skilled and qualified Service Engineer to join our small team of experts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for site commissioning, technical support and troubleshooting of our container handling equipment and ports and terminals.
This is a hybrid/remote role that requires travel across the UK, Europe, and occasionally to other global locations as needed.
Responsibilities
- New equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and providing technical support for our container handling equipment at ports and terminals.
- Assisting customers with problem-solving and solutions.
- Delivering on-site training to customers.
- Providing feedback to designers and factory teams on equipment improvements.
- Proposing new features and enhancements for equipment in service.
- Assisting the sales team in compiling customer quotations.
- Compiling service reports and recording and documenting customer feedback.
- Report to the Service Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A recognised qualification in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.
- Good command of the English language.
- 5–8 years of industry experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience in diagnosing electrical and hydraulic controls.
- Experience in debugging PLC programs (preferred but not essential).
- Flexible and willing to travel on short notice. The frequency of travel is dependent on ongoing projects.
- Analytical, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
