Location: Remote. London based preferred, though not essential
Contract type: Freelance, rolling monthly
Reporting to: Head of Digital Marketing
Beds & Bars has operated bars and hostels across Europe since 1964. Two of our brands sit at the centre of this role, and they require distinctly different voices.
St Christopher's is Europe's original branded hostel network, operating 20 hostels across the UK and Europe including London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Vienna, Bruges, Edinburgh and Newquay. The formula has not changed since the first site opened in 1996: a bed above a bar, centrally located, with events in every hostel.
Belushi's is the bar side of the business, in London and across Europe. Live sport, music and late licences, with travellers and locals drinking side by side. The tone is bold and direct.
We are seeking an experienced freelance marketer to deliver the weekly social media and email output for both brands.
We maintain libraries of photography and video and add to them regularly, though the ideal asset is not always available. The role is to select and format suitable assets, build the post or email, write the copy to brand tone of voice, and submit the work for approval against the agreed content calendar.
Briefs set the objective and the direction. Execution is where we expect your skill and technique to show. This is a brand marketing role, not a content production or influencer role.
Produce four social media posts per brand each week, eight in total, across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
Deliver at least one reel per brand each week, either an original edit or a repost from our library
Produce one email campaign per brand each week using our existing templates, including copy and image selection. Template design is not required
Write all copy in line with each brand's tone of voice guidelines
Submit work for approval and publishing to the agreed content calendar and deadlines
Implement one round of feedback per brief prior to publication
Report gaps in the content library to inform future shoots
At least two years' experience in a marketing role, in-house or agency
Demonstrable experience managing Instagram for a brand or client, alongside TikTok and Facebook. Personal following is not a consideration
Short-form video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, or CapCut where appropriate
Image editing in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent
Excellent written British English, across two distinct tones of voice
Results focused, reliable and efficient, delivering consistently to deadline
The judgement to review a large asset library and extract the material with commercial value
Hospitality, travel or nightlife sectors
Email marketing or CRM platform experience. Training will be provided on ours
The ability to produce original photography and video to a publishable standard
Remote, with a London base preferred so that we have the option of arranging on-site content capture. Any such work would be agreed in advance and paid separately, in addition to the monthly scope.
Working hours are at your discretion. This is a rolling monthly contract, reviewed after the first month and paid on receipt of invoice. The successful candidate will be self-employed and responsible for their own tax and National Insurance. Applicants must hold the right to work in the UK and be aged 18 or over, as the role involves producing content for licensed premises.
Please submit:
A portfolio of digital marketing content you have produced, including social and email examples. Setting out the objectives and the results achieved is preferred. A website, PDF or CV are all acceptable
Your availability and earliest start date
Suitable applicants will be sent an example weekly brief and our proposed fee.
