Are you an experienced and passionate Registered Children's Home Manager looking for the opportunity to shape a new service from the very beginning?
We're seeking an inspirational leader to manage our brand-new children's residential home, opening in October 2026. As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and full compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) regulations.

About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day management of the children's home, ensuring children receive outstanding care and support.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive.
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) regulations and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
- Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing staff team.
- Promote a positive culture that puts children and young people at the heart of everything you do.
- Oversee safeguarding practices and ensure the welfare of every child remains the highest priority.
- Manage budgets, staffing, rotas, and resources effectively.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, families, and other partner agencies.
- Monitor quality, performance, and continuous improvement across the service.
- Participate in the management on-call rota and provide leadership support outside normal working hours when required.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or an equivalent qualification recognised in Wales).
- Experience managing or deputising within a children's residential setting.
- Excellent knowledge of Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) regulations and children's residential care standards in Wales.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and children's rights.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- The ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a team.

Working Hours
Your standard working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is essential. You will be expected to participate in the on-call rota and provide support outside normal working hours when required to ensure the smooth operation of the home.
