We are a well established plumbing and heating company based in Cirencester, covering The Cotswolds and Swindon.
As part of our commitment to growth, and to satisfy the growing demand for Air-conditioning and Heat-pumps, we are looking for an experienced, qualified leading technician to help build the department from scratch.
The candidate would need some leadership skills, focus and drive to help set up this exciting new department within our sucessful business.
We are therefore seeking a skilled and dedicated Air-Conditioning Installation/Service Technician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing Domestic air conditioning systems across deomstic and light commercial settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be capable of interpreting schematics, and demonstrate leadership qualities when overseeing projects. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience or a background in equipment repair to advance their careers within the HVAC industry. All roles are paid, ensuring fair remuneration for your expertise and efforts.
Responsibilities
- Initial set up responsibilities working with the management team and engineers to create a viable installation and servicing team.
- Install, service, and repair a wide range of air conditioning units and systems in residential settings.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installation and maintenance procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance to optimise system performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot system faults efficiently using specialised tools and diagnostic techniques.
- Lead small teams during installation projects, providing guidance and ensuring safety standards are maintained throughout the process.
- Perform equipment repairs with precision, adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Assist with construction activities related to HVAC system installation where necessary.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for future reference.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in air conditioning systems or related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience supervising or guiding team members during installation or maintenance tasks.
- Strong background in equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting within HVAC or construction environments.
- Knowledge of construction processes relevant to HVAC installation projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality work standards are met consistently.
- Valid UK driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites as required.
