Job title: Groundworks Quantity Surveyor

About us
Firmacore Limited is a groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Gloucester, working across the South West. We deliver earthworks, drainage, foundations, S278/S38 works and external works for national housebuilders, with whom we have excellent long-standing relationships. Our pipeline is strong and we're continuing to grow — which is why we're adding a Quantity Surveyor to our commercial team.
The role
You'll take commercial ownership of live groundworks packages from procurement through to final account:
- Take-offs and measurement from drawings
- Monthly valuations and applications for payment, and managing project cash flow
- Pricing and agreeing variations, dayworks and design changes
- Procuring materials and subcontract packages; managing subcontractor accounts and payments
- Cost/value reconciliations and monthly cost reporting
- Supporting tenders on new enquiries
- Negotiating and settling final accounts
What we're looking for
- 3+ years as a QS with a groundworks or civils contractor
- Proven track record running packages from procurement to final account
- Experience with Bluebeam, Causeway, Eque2 or similar an advantage
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- CSCS card (or willing to obtain), full UK driving licence, right to work in the UK
