Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Qualified Mechanic to join our small team, specialising in the servicing, maintenance, and repair of vans.
You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out repairs, servicing vehicles, and ensuring all vehicles are safe and roadworthy. You will work on a variety of makes and models, using your technical knowledge and diagnostic skills to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out routine servicing and vehicle maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Inspecting vehicles and identifying safety issues.
- Replacing and repairing vehicle components when required.
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
- Carrying out MOT preparation and general repairs.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
- Keeping accurate records of work completed.
- Working efficiently while meeting quality standards.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams confidently
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly tools effectively
- Experience in performing maintenance routines and troubleshooting complex machinery issues
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with team members and clients when needed
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting tasks and extended periods of manual work
- Knowledge of safety standards related to equipment repair, welding, and heavy lifting procedures
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
