We are recruiting for a skilled maintenance operative who is seeking a unique and rewarding opportunity, completely different from the usual maintenance environment. Monkey World, a rescue and rehabilitation centre for over 250 primates, is looking for an experienced individual to join our, small but busy and dynamic team.
You'll help keep our 65-acre woodland site running smoothly from minor fixes to major refurbishments, your work directly helps us care for our rescued residents. If you’re a hands-on, practical person with a knack for fixing just about anything, and not afraid of a little mud, read on.
Key Responsibilities
You'll work across a wide range of maintenance tasks, including:
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
- Painting, plastering, tiling, and glazing
- Roof repairs and general building works
· Existing Health & Safety knowledge (manual handling, working at height, ladder safety) is an essential for this role.
About You
- A reliable, trustworthy team player with a solid work ethic and a good attendance record
- Experience across multiple trades
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather, yes, even when it’s raining sideways – we provide the waterproofs!
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to work 1 weekend in every 3 (rotating schedule)
- Full UK driving licence and your own transport
