Locum Dental Hygienist/Therapist Required – September to Mid-October 2026
Healing Waters Dental Care is a modern, patient-focused dental practice providing a full range of NHS and private dental treatments. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and professional Locum Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our team on a temporary basis.
Position Details
- Role: Locum Dental Hygienist/Therapist
- Duration: September 2026 to Mid-October 2026
- Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Location: Milngavie (G62 6BU) and Mount Florida (G42 9XW)
- Employment Type: Self-Employed Locum

The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Carry out periodontal assessments and treatment planning.
- Provide scale and polish treatments and non-surgical periodontal therapy.
- Undertake root surface debridement and periodontal disease management.
- Deliver oral hygiene instruction and preventative care advice.
- Motivate and educate patients on maintaining good oral health.
- Take dental impressions and dental radiographs where appropriate.
- Provide implant maintenance and peri-implant care.
- Carry out clinical examinations within their scope of practice.
- Accurately maintain patient records and treatment notes.
- Recognise abnormalities and refer patients appropriately when required.
- Work closely with dentists and the wider clinical team to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
- Current GDC Registration (essential).
- Indemnity insurance.
- Up-to-date CPD and mandatory training.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist preferred.
- Excellent communication and patient management skills.
- Ability to commute reliably to both practice locations.
