Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to join our team on nights working 00.00 - 09:00am. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. This role requires physical stamina, familiarity with warehouse management systems. Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This is a paid position suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills in logistics and materials handling.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Manage inventory movements through the warehouse management system, ensuring accurate recording of stock levels
- Perform basic maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within designated areas
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing goods for dispatch and verifying incoming shipments
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe working environment at all times
Experience
- Prior experience working in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all new staff
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software is beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is a plus
- Skills in materials handling, load & unload operations, and operating forklifts are desirable
- Basic mathematical skills are necessary for inventory counting and measurements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures will be considered an asset
