Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer
We are looking for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Officer to join our team. This is a 35 hours per week, term time only role offering a salary of £26,265 to £28,688 per annum.

Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the promotion of positive attitudes through participation at cross-college events and to assist in publicising the work of the Additional Learning Support Team and in raising awareness of Mental Health issues and the Wellbeing Service.
- To work collaboratively and develop existing networks that will support the mental health and well-being of students
- To act as an advocate for students with well-being issues as and when appropriate.
- To liaise with external providers of mental health services and internal college student support services as appropriate.
- To liaise with schools and other educational settings to provide a transition process for students coming into college with mental health and wellbeing needs.
- To provide a crisis intervention service, to support and guide students through crisis situations which occur in the College.
- To deliver mental health & well-being support sessions to ALS students on a 1:1 and small group basis.
- To deliver high-quality tutorial sessions to help support students’ mental health & well-being
- To manage a caseload of students with high-level mental health and well-being needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Level 4 Qualification/professional training in an area of professional practice. Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or equivalent health/social care/counselling qualification.
- Previous experience of supporting young people with mental health issues
- Experience of dealing with complex situations including crises
- Experience of working with a range of external organisations and professional networks.
- Experience of delivering mental health and wellbeing training.
