We are now seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our thriving Procurement team.
About the Role
This is a senior-level procurement position responsible for both direct and indirect purchasing across the business.
As Senior Buyer, you will ensure on-time in-full (OTIF) supply, maintain the highest quality standards, and secure commercially competitive agreements aligned with business objectives.
This is a hands-on role requiring involvement in day-to-day operational purchasing activity, while also contributing to the strategic development and continuous improvement of the Procurement function.
You will work closely with Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Planning teams to ensure robust sourcing strategies that support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Develop and manage clearly defined procurement processes and procedures
- Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and mitigate price increases
- Drive supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and relationship management
- Ensure adherence to company Terms & Conditions
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned to business goals
- Manage inventory levels to ensure continuity of supply without impacting production
- Monitor and deliver against procurement KPIs
- Work cross-functionally to understand technical and operational purchasing requirements
- Ensure sourcing of high-quality products and services
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within Procurement
What We’re Looking For
- Proven operational procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capability
- Experience influencing both internal and external stakeholders
- Commercially focused with a strong understanding of cost management
- Experience developing and delivering high-level sourcing strategies
- High level of education, ideally CIPS qualified (or working towards)
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organisation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Proactive, hands-on approach with strategic awareness
- Willingness to travel between North Wales sites as required
