JOB PURPOSE
The Trainer plays a key role in supporting the development of our care teams by coordinating, delivering and monitoring training across our care homes. The role is responsible for ensuring colleagues receive a high-quality induction, complete mandatory training on time, and have access to learning opportunities that support safe, effective and person-centred care.
Working closely with Home Managers and the Quality & Training Manager, the Trainer identifies training needs, coordinates learning events, maintains accurate training records and supports a positive culture of continuous learning. This is a hands-on, operational role focused on ensuring training is organised, delivered and recorded effectively.
INDUCTION & TRAINING DELIVERY
· Deliver engaging and effective induction programmes for new colleagues.
· Facilitate mandatory and refresher training in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
· Delivery quality learning in practical sessions such as Basic Life Support, Moving & Handling.
· Adapt training methods to meet the needs of different learners.
· Promote best practice and company values throughout all training activities.
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT CO-0RDINATION
· Monitor mandatory training compliance across all services.
· Identify training needs through discussions with managers, audits, feedback and observations.
· Source suitable training providers where required in conjunction with the Quality & Training Manager.
· Organise training events, including venues, resources and invitations.
· Monitor attendance and collect feedback to support continuous improvement.
· Maintain accurate training records on the Learning Management System.
· Ensure colleague training records are complete and up to date.
· Monitor completion of e-learning modules.
· Review e-learning content to ensure it remains appropriate and relevant.
· Produce routine training reports and escalate compliance issues.
SUPPORTING PRACTICE
· Support managers in embedding learning into everyday practice.
· Assist with competency assessments where appropriate.
· Promote a culture of continuous learning.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Comply with company policies, health and safety, GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
· Travel between care homes as required.
· Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as requested by the Quality & Training Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION – ESSENTIAL
· Experience delivering training within health and social care.
· Good understanding of mandatory training requirements in adult social care.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Experience using a Learning Management System.
· Strong organisational and IT skills.
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
PERSON SPECIFICATION - DESIRABLE
· Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent.
· Care qualification at Level 3 or above.
· Experience in residential, nursing or dementia care.
· Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards.
Pay: £15.50 per hour
