Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest quality of food and service. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive working environment
- Develop innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in accordance with food safety regulations
- Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills in food production, safety practices, and customer service
- Monitor food safety standards rigorously, ensuring compliance with health regulations at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Organise staff rotas, oversee shift schedules, and manage labour costs effectively
- Maintain a high standard of hospitality by ensuring the team delivers excellent serving experiences to guests
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Previous experience in restaurant management or as a Head Chef is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- A passion for culinary innovation and delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential if complemented by substantial practical experience
