Experienced Carpenter/Joiner or Small Team — High-End Residential Conversions & Extensions (East London) — Self-Employed
About us
George Busch Carpentry Ltd (GBC) is a high-end residential construction company based in East London, specialising in loft conversions, extensions, and refurbishments. We pride ourselves on the quality of our finished design and our exacting attention to detail.
The role
We're looking for an experienced carpenter/joiner — either working alone or bringing a small team — to take our projects from post plastering through to full completion. The vast majority of the work will be 2nd fix carpentry, bespoke joinery, kitchen fitting etc but general trade finishing such as silicone and minor snagging repairs will also be needed. Likewise if you or your team can also tile or paint to a high standard this would be valuable although not essential.
What we're looking for
- Your own van and tools
- Confidence working independently — assessing what's outstanding on a job, compiling a snag list, and planning how and when it'll be finished
- Initiative to source and collect materials when something's missing on site (the majority of materials are supplied by us)
- Strong communication, organisation, and attention to detail
- A consistent, high standard of finish
Individual or team
This role suits either a sole tradesperson or someone who can bring their own small team or labourers.
Basis
Self-employed, project by project. We typically run around ten active projects at a time, so there's enough work to keep you or your team consistently busy.
Pay
Negotiable per project — day rate (based on an agreed hourly rate) or price work.
