Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fence Erector / Lead Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing fence installation projects, ensuring quality workmanship, and leading the team. This role requires working in all sorts of weather and involves heavy lifting. The ideal applicant will possess a proactive attitude, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties
- Lead and supervise fence installation teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
- Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine materials and methods required
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install various types of fencing using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building regulations
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and other tradespeople to facilitate smooth project progression
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to meet company standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment on-site
Experience
- Proven experience in fencing installation or related construction fields such as carpentry, roofing, or masonry
- Demonstrable knowledge of hand tools, power tools
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory or lead fitter roles considered an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely
- Relevant certifications or training in construction safety are desirable but not mandatory
