The successful applicant can be based at either our Boddam or Uddingston site.
The Role
The internal auditor is responsible for conducting all Internal Technical Audits across both sites. The role requires extensive travel between sites and plays a key part in ensuring compliance with customer, BRC, and third-party technical standards. Responsibilities include maintaining the internal audit matrix, completing audits to required frequencies, managing the close-out of non-conformances through effective cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining relevant KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure both sites remain compliant with the internal auditing requirements of our customers, BRC, and relevant third parties.
- Maintain internal audit proformas in line with customer, BRC, and legislative changes.
- Work with the Quality Systems Manager to maintain a risk-based audit matrix and audit frequencies.
- Conduct both announced and unannounced internal audits within required timescales.
- Work cross-functionally with relevant departments to close out non-conformities within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain and report on internal auditing KPIs, highlighting slippage, overdue actions, or serious non-conformities.
- Support and actively promoting brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by ensuring there is engagement and communication between teams, customers and suppliers that continually drives improvement.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Line Manager, Senior Managers, or Company Directors.

Experience:
- Previous Technical and Food Safety internal auditing is highly desirable.
- Experienced in working with the key UK retailers.
- Ideally Lead Auditor qualified.
- Experience across multiple food categories.
Education/Qualifications:
- Practical experience of HACCP
- Practical experience in TACCP/VACCP
Other Relevant Information:
- Full driving licence essential due to extensive travel between sites.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours on occasions to meet the needs of the business.
Hours of Work
- Hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
