Our team is committed to delivering a high-quality service to our clients. We are looking for a dedicated Ground Worker / Labourer to join our team.
Role Overview
The Ground Worker / Labourer will play a crucial role in our field operations, attending client sites to conduct a range of tasks. They will be responsible for carrying out opening-up works and excavating trial pits and recording site data using our innovative capture system. You will ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, in compliance with health and safety regulations, and in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundwork and excavation works
- Assist with trial pits, trenches, and reinstatement
- Carry out controlled opening-up works to expose structural elements
- Support drainage and site investigation projects
- Operate hand tools and small plant safely
- Set up and maintain safe working areas
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment
- Keep work areas clean and organised
- Report hazards, defects, and site issues
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Represent the company professionally on site
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in groundwork / construction
- Valid CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Prepared to travel to site
- Good understanding of safe excavation practices
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual work
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Site Investigation: 1 year preferred
- Confined Space certification
- First Aid at Work
- Asbestos Awareness training
- Experience in drainage or utilities
- Experience in site investigations or structural opening-up works
Salary: £26,000–£30,000 per annum, depending on experience
The stated salary range is intended as a guideline; however, we are open to negotiation for candidates with exceptional skills, experience, and industry knowledge.
Occasional overtime on weekends
