Overview
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Casual Sales Assistant to join our team on a flexible basis, where your energy and enthusiasm will drive exceptional customer experiences during evenings and weekends. Hours and Availability Required
Shifts will be offered on a casual, flexible basis depending on business needs. However operational gaps require a candidate (or candidates with good flexibility during the following times:
- Monday and Tuesday evenings (shifts finish at our closing time of 9:00PM)
- 1 or 2 shifts over the weekend or other weekday evenings
Note: As this is a casual worker agreement, there is no legal obligation for us to offer a set number of guaranteed hours each week, nor are you required to accept every shift offered.
Duties
- Assisting customers and providing great service on the shop floor.
- Engage in active upselling by recommending products that meet customer needs and preferences
- Maintain organized merchandise displays through effective merchandising techniques
- Manage time efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed during busy evening and weekend shifts
- Support store organization by restocking shelves and keeping the store tidy
- Verifying customer age and strictly enforcing licensing laws for age-restricted products
- Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers
- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods
- Time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities seamlessly
- Independent Shift Management: Confidently running the shop floor alone during quiet evening or weekend shifts.
- Evening Closing Routine: Taking responsibility for safely closing the shop floor, securing the premises at 9:00 PM, and setting the alarm before leaving.
What We Are Looking For
- Age 18 + : Essential to comply with our current retail licencing laws.
- Solo Reliability: A trustworthy individual who is comfortable working independently and following a simple close-down checklist.
- Flexibility: Ability to reliably work evening shifts until 9:00PM and varying weekend hours.
- Customer Focused: A warm, helpful personality when interacting with our local community.
- Previous retail or cash handling experience is great, but full training will be provided.
Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
