One subscription. Endless possibilities.
Pathfinder is an award-winning Marketing, Design and Web agency built on a simple idea: every business deserves access to a brilliant creative team, not just the ones who can afford a full department. So we replaced the department with a subscription. Fixed monthly fee, work delivered weekly, cancelled any time.
We are looking for a genuinely world-class Chief Marketing Officer. This is not a strategy seat with a team underneath it. It is a builder's role with two fronts: sharpen the systems that make our model work, and lead the relationships with our most important enterprise clients.
--
What you will own
01 - Our systems
You will take ownership of how marketing work actually gets planned, briefed, produced, quality-checked and reported across the business. That means building frameworks that make good work repeatable, designing the operating rhythm between account management and delivery, choosing the tooling and the AI workflows that give our specialists leverage, and finding the friction before it reaches a client.
--
02 - Our enterprise clients
You will personally lead a small set of senior relationships with our largest and most recognised clients. Sitting in the room with their marketing leadership, shaping strategy at the level they expect, and being the person who makes them confident they chose correctly.
This is a strategic role. You will not be presenting someone else's thinking. Our enterprise accounts want a peer, and you will be that peer, while our specialist teams deliver the work behind you.
--
Your first year, roughly
First 90 days: Get inside the model. Understand the economics, the delivery machine, the client base and the objectives. Meet every enterprise client. Deliver a growth thesis and an honest assessment of where our systems will break as we scale.
Months 3 to 6: Design & ship new systems. New marketing operations tested and measured, the first structural improvements to how work moves through the business, and full ownership of the senior client relationships.
Months 6 to 12: Keep what works and kick what doesn't. You'll iterate the systems and build the team around it to make Pathfinder the obvious answer for businesses weighing up their marketing options.

About you
You have done this before, at a level that stands up to scrutiny.
Essential
- Significant senior marketing leadership experience, ideally as CMO or Marketing Director in a high growth business, or as a senior agency leader on major accounts.
- Genuine credibility with enterprise and well-respected clients. You have held senior relationships with large, sophisticated organisations and been trusted by them.
- Deep fluency across the full funnel. Strategy, brand, performance, content and lifecycle. You do not need to be the best practitioner in every channel, but you need to know when someone is talking nonsense.
- A builder's instinct for process. You have designed the way work gets done, not just the work itself, and you can point to systems still running after you left.
- Real commercial literacy. CAC, LTV, payback, churn, MRR. You think like an owner.
- Genuine taste. You can tell great creative from competent creative and articulate the difference.
- You thrive remotely. Self-directed, clear in writing, and comfortable holding a room over video.
Nice to have
- Experience with subscription, retainer or recurring revenue services. You understand that retention is a marketing problem as much as a delivery one.
- Agency background alongside client-side experience. Knowing both sides of the table is a real advantage here.
- Experience building a marketing team from a small base.
- Comfort with AI tooling as a genuine part of how modern marketing gets done, not as a novelty.
--
What we offer
- A senior seat with real autonomy and a founder who wants to be challenged.
- £110,000 - £125,000 base with a performance bonus planned for H2, 2027
- Work with brands most marketers only ever read case studies about.
- Remote-first working, properly done.
- Flexible working around core hours.
- Optional access to our offices at The Shard, and team gatherings worth travelling for.
- Best in class tools, technology and training. We believe people work best when they are properly equipped.
- Pension, holiday allowance, private healthcare, learning budget, other benefits
