Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and their families. You will play a vital role in implementing care plans, supervising junior staff, and ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care in a safe and supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and training as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
- Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to senior care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required
- Medication administering.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of supervising staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with residents and their families.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- A compassionate approach to caring for elderly individuals, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Ability to drive initiatives that enhance resident wellbeing within the care home setting.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to healthcare documentation is advantageous.
