Boys & Boden Builders Merchants is a successful, well-established and expanding Independent Builders Merchants.
We are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Driver (Class 2) driver to deliver building materials via multidrop to customers in the local area from our Welshpool and Newtown Branches. This role will be based from Welshpool and will entail Inter branch stock transfers every wednesday.
Experience:
- A clean current driving licence, for all relevant vehicles up to and including Class 2 HGV
- A HIAB licence and relevant previous experience is desirable but not essential.
- The driver will be required to use a forklift, therefore a counterbalance Forklift Certificate is desirable, but not essential.
- In addition to deliveries the candidate will need to undertake manual handling.
- Training will be provided for the right candidate for HIAB/Forklift
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm
Friday 7.30am to 5.00pm
Saturdays occasionally by agreement
Salary dependent on experience
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to deliver goods to various locations efficiently and safely.
- Ensure timely multi-drop deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload vehicles, securing loads to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure road worthiness.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation as required.
