Job Overview
We are seeking a locally based, compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our client within his own home. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference whilst developing your skills. The role involves joining an existing experienced team supporting a gentleman within his own home who has complex care needs due to spinal injury with all training being provided to the succesfull applicant.
Duties
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting with transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Helping with meal preparation.
- Assisting with medication administration following prescribed care plans
- Providing companionship and emotional support.
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided.
- Communicating effectively with the client, his family, and healthcare professionals
- Driving the client's own vehicle to provide access to the commnuinty as required.
- Following health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
Qualifications
- Valid United Kingdom driving licence is required for client's vehicle insurance purposes
- Previous experience providing home care and/or complex care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with diverse individuals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A caring attitude with a genuine interest in supporting others' wellbeing
