About Us
Barbara Rose Care Home is a specialist residential service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge. We are a small, friendly home with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred care and achieving positive outcomes for the people we support.

The Role
You will work as part of a supportive team to provide high-quality care while promoting independence, dignity, choice and respect.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing person-centred support.
- Supporting with personal care where required.
- Promoting independence and life skills.
- Supporting community access and meaningful activities.
- Administering medication safely (following training).
- Following care plans, risk assessments and Positive Behaviour Support strategies.
- Completing accurate daily records and reports.
- Working professionally with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.
- Safeguarding the people we support at all times.
Essential Requirements
- At least 12 months’ experience working in a UK care setting. Must include experience with autism and mental health with challenging behaviour.
- Experience needed in supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism or mental health needs.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A caring, patient and positive attitude.
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work a rota including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Medication administration experience.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
- Understanding of Safeguarding, MCA and DoLS.
