Job Summary
We are looking for Night and Day staff with experience supporting people with autism/complex behaviours.
The role would be supporting our young adult son alongside family and other PAs in the family home, and out on activities in the community.
The person being cared for - 23 year old Male diagnosed with autism, learning disabilities and associated complex behaviours.
We are a friendly family looking for kind, patient, and reliable support workers to help care for our young adult son. He is a bright funny young man who likes being out and about. He does many activities through out the week and loves going on drives out to many exciting destinations. He does experience challenging behaviours and will need calm consistent support.
About the role
The role is about more than just care - its about building a trusting relationship and helping our son enjoy life to the fullest. Your day-to-day support may include:
● Encouraging and guiding him through his day to day routines.
● Supporting him to enjoy activities in the community.
● Providing reassurance and confidence in challenging situations when behaviours become difficult.
● Working alongside family, as well as professionals to follow his support plan.
About you
● Experience supporting autistic adults in residential or hospital settings would be of great advantage.
● We are looking for someone who is warm, caring and resilient.
● Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet.
● A good communicator, with a sense of humour and patience.
● Willing to learn and follow agreed strategies to keep everyone safe and supported.
● Experience supporting autistic adults in a hospital or residential settings would be of great advantage.
