We are currently recruiting for a Farm Saved Seed Operator for a permanent position with work split across the Wigtoft and Southery areas.
Agrii is a leading provider of agronomy services, technology, and strategic advice. We are looking to recruit a Farm Saved Seed (FSS) Operator / Engineer to join our Seed team on a full time, permanent basis. The role will involve travelling from both our Wigtoft and Southery sites to customer farms in order to maintain and run plant based seed processing machinery. Successful candidates will be highly self motivated with a desire to succeed within an extremely busy seasonal agricultural business.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain & run FSS Machinery ensuring it is fit for purpose and running smoothly.
- Operate and maintain seed cleaning and treatment machinery.
- Travel to farm sites to process farm saved seed.
- Work closely with customers to meet their requirements.
- Work flexibly to meet seasonal demand and help with ad-hoc on-farm or site tasks.
What you’ll bring:
- Some experience in agriculture, farming, or machine operation (essential).
- Strong communication and team work skills and a proactive, reliable approach.
- A genuine interest in the agricultural sector.
- HGV, PA1 & PA11 would be an advantage however relevant training will be provided.
- Willingness to undertake manual handling and outdoor work in all weather.
- Flexibility to travel across the regions and work extended overtime hours, especially during peak season.
Please note: Pay for this role is based on experience and as a result there is some flex on the starting salary. This role will come with significant paid overtime.
