Retail Assistant
About the role
You will be working in a local, independent retail business where your excellent customer service skills and warm friendly welcome to customers will be essential, as you help support them with their fuel and sundry purchases. You will help us to maximise turnover, ensuring that every opportunity is taken to increase our sales. Alongside serving customers, you will ensure that all stock is priced correctly and that the shop remains clean and tidy at all times. You will maintain a thorough knowledge of products too, so that you are always on hand to help customers with any queries that they may have.
About you
Outgoing and courteous, you’ll preferably have worked in a similar customer facing or retail role before and have good communication skills. You should be able to identify customer needs and pride yourself on delivering a high level of customer care. You will need to be a team player but also be motivated to work independently and think laterally when faced with challenges. We can provide training, so it is more important that the right candidate has great people skills, be enthusiastic and willing to learn. A sense of responsibility and pride in the job is paramount, along with punctuality and loyalty.
