JOB TITLE: Project Manager - Aerospace & Defense EMEA

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Aerospace & Defence team, leading complex customer projects across an international environment.
You will take ownership of projects from kick-off through to completion, managing the design, engineering and production of cable and connectivity systems incorporating both HUBER+SUHNER and third-party components. Acting as the primary customer contact, you will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
This is a highly visible role that combines technical understanding, commercial awareness and stakeholder management. You will work closely with customers, internal teams and external partners to deliver successful outcomes and drive long-term business growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead customer projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, risks and resources to ensure successful delivery.
- Take ownership of project profitability, including proactive margin optimisation, change management and claim management.
- Support and lead bid activities, including commercial, technical and contractual reviews.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as the main point of contact throughout project execution.
- Chair project board meetings and provide effective escalation and risk management.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations, quality, procurement and commercial functions.
- Work closely with international colleagues, production sites and regional teams to ensure alignment and project success.
- Manage subcontractors and third-party suppliers where required.
- Support the development and implementation of Customer Solution Engineering and Systems Engineering initiatives across EMEA.
- Lead customer audits, assessments and the resolution of non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements and Delegation of Authority (DOA) processes.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in project and/or programme management within a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong customer-facing experience, including stakeholder management and customer communication.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business administration principles.
- Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Structured, organised and proactive approach to project delivery.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Based in the UK with a willingness to travel across the EMEA region.
Desirable
- Experience working within Aerospace & Defence programmes or projects.
- Knowledge of network communication technologies.
- Experience managing complex industrial systems and technical projects.
- IPMA Level C (or higher) or an equivalent project management qualification.
