Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. This role involves applying paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring high standards of quality and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for colour and finish, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints or finishes.
- Applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, or other decorative coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mixing paints and colours to achieve desired shades and consistency.
- Protecting surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures before commencing work.
- Ensuring all work is completed within specified timeframes whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered during work.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout the project duration.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during job execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or instructions accurately.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting materials and working at heights when necessary.
