About the Role
Bolton Excellency is looking for a skilled, hands-on Social Media Manager to take full ownership of our brand presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This is not a strategy-only position. You will be responsible for the complete cycle of content creation, video editing, publishing, community management, and paid advertising across all three platforms from day one, operating independently with a high standard of output.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and publish daily content across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok aligned to Bolton Excellency's brand voice, content pillars, and business objectives
- Film, direct, and edit short-form video in-house including Reels, TikToks, and Stories without reliance on external production teams
- Write platform-native captions and scripts with researched hashtag strategies unique to each platform — no generic cross-posting
- Build, launch, manage, and optimise paid advertising campaigns in Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager with full accountability for budget and performance
- Manage all community interactions — DMs, comments, and story replies — within agreed response timeframes and brand tone
- Deliver regular performance reports covering reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, CPM, CPC, CTR, and ROAS with data-led recommendations
Platform-Specific Requirements
Instagram
- Algorithm proficiency: understanding of Reels ranking signals, Stories engagement weighting, and Explore page placement logic to maximise organic reach
- Reels production: concept to publish — filming, transitions, audio selection, on-screen captioning, thumbnail selection, and cover frame optimisation
- Instagram Shopping: product tagging, shoppable post setup, and catalogue management via Meta Commerce Manager
- Story strategy: interactive sequences using polls, quizzes, countdown stickers, question boxes, and link stickers to drive click-through and saves
- Paid placements: Meta Ads Manager experience running Instagram-specific Stories ads, Reels ads, and Explore placements with defined KPIs and conversion tracking
Facebook
- Page management: health monitoring, CTA button configuration, pinned post strategy, and review management via Meta Business Suite
- Meta Ads Manager: campaign architecture (campaign, ad set, ad level), Custom Audiences, Lookalike Audiences, retargeting via Meta Pixel, and creative A/B testing
- Pixel competency: Meta Pixel event tracking setup, Standard Events vs Custom Events, attribution window configuration, and conversion reporting
- Organic strategy: content formats that sustain visibility — native video, Reels cross-posts, Facebook Live — and Facebook Group community management
TikTok
- FYP algorithm: deep understanding of watch time, completion rate, re-watch signals, and share velocity as ranking factors for the For You Page
- Editing proficiency: CapCut and in-app editing — trending transitions, green screen, text overlays, voiceovers, captions, and safe-zone framing for all aspect ratios
- TikTok SEO: keyword placement in captions, on-screen text, and spoken audio to rank in TikTok Search and drive discoverability
- TikTok Ads Manager: In-Feed Ads, Spark Ads, TopView, custom audience building, TikTok Pixel event tracking, and campaign performance optimisation
- Trend mechanics: proven ability to identify trending audio cycles, execute duets and stitches, and turn around platform-native content within fast production windows

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on social media management for a brand or agency
- A demonstrable portfolio showing measurable growth, creative output quality, and paid advertising results with quantifiable ROI
- Proven independent management of paid social budgets across Meta and TikTok with trackable, results-driven performance outcomes
- Self-sufficient workflow: ability to manage a multi-platform content calendar, meet weekly publishing deadlines, and operate without daily creative direction
Pay: £26,800.00-£30,000.00 per year
