Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal operation and safety of our facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various building systems and equipment. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing components.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and other control systems.
- Perform welding and other fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment and structures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise junior maintenance staff or contractors during specific projects or repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimise downtime or hazards.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing building-related concerns efficiently and professionally.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including experience with schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in welding techniques and mechanical repairs.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Good understanding of building maintenance practices, including HVAC, plumbing, and general repairs.
- Leadership skills with previous supervising experience in a maintenance environment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Customer service orientation with a professional attitude towards internal clients and external vendors.
